					<title>Songs for the new album</title>
					<link>http://steveroybalmusic.com/home.cfm?feature=2680804&amp;postid=1850301</link>
<description>One of my favorite parts of the creative process is taking a song I write - just the basic chord progression, the melody and the lyrics - and allowing the it to unravel in the studio with everyone else adding ideas, parts and textures to create the song you ultimately hear. Chris Amos likes to tell me &amp;quot;you sketch the picture and we color it in&amp;quot;. Very true. As we&apos;ve continued to piece this&amp;nbsp;next album together (still untitled) we&apos;ve also been sure to NOT create a song list. That is to say, we&apos;ve decided as we go, what songs to record for the album. And with about&amp;nbsp;8 songs done or almost done, it&apos;s a mix of current songs that are being written now (&amp;quot; My California Life&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;Forever Everything&amp;quot;), older songs I wrote from my days with the Mood (&amp;quot;Almost There&amp;quot;,&amp;nbsp;&amp;quot;Sun In Your Eyes&amp;quot;) and one or two REALLY old ones.

So while I haven&apos;t been regularly giving updates on the album&apos;s progress, we have just a few more songs to go - but what they are, even we don&apos;t know yet!

					<title>The New Website Is UP!</title>
					<link>http://steveroybalmusic.com/home.cfm?feature=2680804&amp;postid=1219998</link>
<description>Well if you&apos;re reading this, then I guess you already know that. With traffic at an all time low on the previous Steve Roybal Music website (4 year old songs and pictures will have that effect on web traffic), it seemed like an opportune time to regroup. About a month ago my good friend Mike Deweese stopped by a recent studio session and armed with his third hand (camera), took some great shots of the SRM team working in the studio. Check out the Photos section of the site to see some of his work from that day.

And then there&apos;s the music. While I was tempted to dump every new song we&apos;ve completed on this site, I learned from the early days of &amp;quot;MySpace&amp;quot; that releasing songs online as they&apos;re completed in the studio makes for a pretty anti-climatic album release when the tunes are finally done. So for those paying attention to the music playing in the background right now, you&apos;ll notice the addition of &amp;quot;Eden&apos;sBurning&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;Hands&amp;quot;, two recently completed songs that will eventually be featured on the new album. And for those of you who just can&apos;t get enough of the tunes from my early days of songwriting (anyone, anyone???), we&apos;ve included a few of those&amp;nbsp;songs for your listening pleasure. &amp;quot;Eden&apos;s Burning&amp;quot; will also be featured on the forthcoming compilation album &amp;quot;Atlas Amped&amp;quot; - an AWESOME collection of 13 Northern California bands representing a very wide array of music - including mine! But you can get an early preview of the song here.

We&apos;ll continue to add new features and content as we continue to navigate the new platform we&apos;re using to design the site. In the meantime, leave me a message on the &amp;quot;Contact Us&amp;quot; page and tell us what you think.

Hope you enjoy the new site.
