Steve Roybal Music

Starting at the age of 13, Chris has been playing guitar and writing music for 21 years. Chris had already had been introduced to some guitar songs from his cousin when a friend of his in Santa Rosa taught him more songs and he then turned him on to guitar extraordinaire Bill Decker. Chris studied guitar with Bill Decker for around 6 years learning songs, guitar theory, lead licks, blues, classical, a little jazz, rock, and heavy metal.

When Chris was in the 9th grade, he was asked to play bass guitar in the junior high jazz band under the direction of Andy Collinsworth. When Chris reached high school he played guitar in jazz band my junior and senior years also under the direction of Andy Collinsworth. He then reached Santa Rosa Junior College where music became his major and ended up receiving an Associate’s Degree in Music.

Over the years Chris has played in many Sonoma County bands including Syphon The Pig, Symposium, Somebody’s Brother, California, Drop Point, Heritage, The Mood, and now plays lead guitar and actively writes new material with Steve Roybal Music.
